Animation, like film, is essentially an optical illusion which depends on the persistence of vision. Animation and film have many techniques and conventions in common (camera movements and angles for example: Fade in/out, zoom in/out, pan, tilt, etc). As we study animation we’ll also need to learn some of the basics that also apply to film.
